Creating a cPanel account in WHM as a reseller

Create a separate cPanel account when a customer needs an independent website, login, email service and resource allocation. A new WHM account is a hosting account; registering a domain or purchasing a new Nabtech service is a separate task.

Check access and requirements

Use your reseller WHM login and confirm that your plan permits another account. Prepare the customer domain, a contact address, an appropriate package and a secure way to deliver credentials. Check whether an existing account or DNS zone already uses the domain.

01 Create a cPanel account in WHM as a reseller

  1. Open Account Functions > Create a New Account.
  2. Enter the domain without a protocol or path. Review the proposed username before creation, then generate a unique password and enter the customer contact email.
  3. Select a package that fits the order. Review disk, transfer, mailbox and database limits; these must fit your reseller allocation. Enable shell access only when it is needed and permitted.
  4. Check DNS and mail-routing options against the intended setup. A domain using external email must not be configured on the assumption that all mail is local.
  5. Review the complete form and select Create. Wait for the completion report and retain any error message before leaving the page.

How do I confirm the new cPanel account is ready?

Find the username in List Accounts, open its cPanel and confirm its package and domain. Test the website and email after the appropriate DNS records are in place. Send credentials through a secure channel.

Resolve setup problems

If creation reports a duplicate domain, exhausted quota or permission error, correct that condition before retrying. Check List Accounts first because a partial attempt may already have created an account. Do not terminate an existing customer account simply to clear a conflicting name.
