Changing the language used by cPanel

Change the panel language when you want its labels and navigation in a supported language. This affects your management interface; it does not translate website pages, email content or the WordPress administration language.

01 Prepare for the change

Keep a note of the current language and how to reach the account menu. Supported languages vary by version. Browser language preferences and saved cookies can influence the login screen, so two browsers may initially show different labels.

02 Change the language used by cPanel

  1. Open Account Preferences and locate Change Language or the Language selector. Older interfaces may show a separate Change Language feature.
  2. Choose the desired language from the available list and save the change. Wait for the interface to refresh before continuing.
  3. Open one familiar feature to confirm its labels are readable. If the language selection did not persist, sign out and back in using the same browser to check the saved preference.
  4. For the login screen itself, use its language choices if necessary. This is helpful when you cannot yet reach Account Preferences.

03 Confirm the expected result

Check that the account menu and common tools display in the chosen language. Existing domain names, filenames and your own content should retain their original text.

04 Example: switch cPanel language and keep a recovery route

Changing your control-panel language should not change your public website. For example, you can use cPanel in French while your WordPress site and business email remain in English. Each application maintains its own content and preferences.

Before saving, note the current language and the position of the language control. Make one preference change at a time. Reload the panel and confirm that familiar areas such as Files and Email still open. A linked extension may continue using a different language if it has separate translation settings.

What if I selected a language I cannot read?

Return to the same language selector and choose the previous language. Use the known page location rather than changing account passwords or restoring files, neither of which is the appropriate fix for a display preference. Contact us through your client area if you cannot find the control.

Include the panel type and a screenshot showing the relevant controls. Hide customer names, account details and any security information that is not needed. We will guide you back to the correct preference without changing your website's text or asking you to share your main account password.

What if my preferred cPanel language is unavailable?

If the preferred language is unavailable, choose an available language and ask support about the server’s supported locales. Do not rename folders or edit website encoding to change panel navigation. If cookies are cleared or another browser is used, review its login-language preference again.
