Creating and downloading a full SiteWorx backup

A full SiteWorx backup packages the selected account data for recovery or migration. Keep a downloaded copy away from the hosting account so an account-level failure does not also remove your only backup.

Check access and requirements

Confirm sufficient free space and access to Backups. Decide whether the backup must include secondary domains. For a busy database-driven site, schedule a quiet period or use the application’s supported consistency process.

01 Create and download a full SiteWorx backup

  1. Open Backups > Backup Now, select Full Backup and choose an available destination. Continue to the package settings.
  2. Enter a notification address that you can access independently of the website being backed up. Review the domain selection carefully: a single-domain package does not include every secondary domain.
  3. Avoid excluding file extensions unless you know the omitted files are unnecessary for recovery. Start the backup and wait for completion rather than repeatedly starting more jobs.
  4. Open Backups > Management and download the completed package. Store it securely because it can contain private website, database and email information.
  5. Record its creation date, domain scope and restore method. Ask support about a full-account restoration or migration before assuming the partial-restore button accepts every backup type.

Check the backup or recovered data

Confirm the download completes and the archive is readable. Check that expected domains and database content are represented; a small file or successful email alone is not a restore test.

Why is SiteWorx backup unavailable or unable to include my website data?

If backup tools are absent, they require provider permission. If generation fails, check disk capacity and the reported error. A structure-only backup excludes actual website files, messages and database tables, so it cannot replace a full data backup.
