Remove an additional FTP user when its access is no longer authorised. Revoking that login and deleting website files are separate decisions, so confirm the account and its home directory before using any removal action.

Prepare for the change
Identify the full FTP username, assigned domain and directory. Keep a backup of important data and check whether scheduled uploads still use the account. If access must stop immediately while you investigate, suspension may be available.
01 Remove a SiteWorx FTP user
- Open Hosting Features > FTP > Accounts and select the relevant domain where required.
- Locate the exact FTP user and review its home directory. Do not confuse an additional user with the account’s primary FTP identity.
- Choose the trash or delete action and read the confirmation for any associated effects. Proceed only for the user you intend to revoke.
- Remove the retired credentials from authorised transfer-client profiles and update any deployment process that depended on them.
- Open a new connection attempt with the old username to confirm it no longer authenticates, then inspect the website and retained files.
Confirm the expected result
The user should disappear from the FTP account list and the website should continue to serve its intended content. Other permitted users should retain their own access.
Why can someone still access files after I remove one FTP user?
If access continues, verify you tested a fresh session and did not authenticate through a separate SSH or primary account. Deleting one FTP user does not revoke all server access. If the wrong user was removed, recreate only the necessary scoped account rather than granting broad access to compensate.
