Sending business email from Gmail on Android

Use the account selector and From field to make sure a business message leaves through the correct mailbox. A successfully sent message still needs to be accepted by the recipient's system, so keep delivery failures separate from app composition issues.

What you need before you begin

Have the recipient's complete address, intended From identity and final attachments ready. For a setup check, choose an external mailbox you control or a colleague who can confirm the received message and reply.

01 Send business email from Gmail on Android

  1. Select your business mailbox and tap Compose. Check the From address before adding recipients.
  2. Enter the full recipient addresses and a clear subject. Use Cc only for people who should be visible to one another; use an approved mailing service for bulk campaigns.
  3. Write the message and attach only the intended files. Review the size and contents before sending confidential or customer information.
  4. Send once, then check that the message leaves the Outbox and appears in Sent. If it remains queued, note the displayed connection or authentication error.

Test sending and receiving

For a setup test, send to a separate mailbox and request a reply. Check the delivered From address and attachment before using the account for normal business mail.

Troubleshoot unexpected results

A stuck Outbox can indicate network or SMTP authentication problems. A later bounce contains server-delivery information and should be investigated using its status code. Do not keep pressing Send while uncertain whether the original message was accepted.

A common question

Can I recall a message after sending?

A brief undo control, if offered, is not a universal recall from the recipient's mailbox. Review recipients and attachments before sending and follow your organisation's process if information went to the wrong person.
