A low purchase balance can prevent a new domain operation from being accepted under your account's funding policy. Add sufficient funds and review any held or pending amount before relying on automated registrations or renewals.

01 Read the correct balance
Open the reseller area's Wallet page. The screen explains whether domain purchases use your ordinary credit balance directly or a separate reseller balance. If separate mode is enabled, unused WHMCS credit may need an explicit transfer before it is available for reseller orders.
A displayed balance is not always the entire amount available for a new purchase. Existing holds, pending operations, account restrictions and the applicable payment policy can affect the result. Use the current account view and the operation's error rather than assuming the same rule for every reseller.
02 Restore purchase capacity
- Check the amount required for the intended registration, transfer, renewal or restore.
- Review the wallet and recent statement for charges or holds you already recognise.
- Use Add funds and complete the resulting payment, or use the supported balance-transfer action where appropriate.
- Wait for the payment or transfer to be confirmed and verify the resulting purchase balance.
- Return to the original failed or pending order and inspect its actual status before retrying.
03 Avoid duplicate orders
A low-balance error can occur before a provider request, but a timeout or uncertain operation needs separate reconciliation. Do not create a second registration or renewal merely because you have just added funds. Keep the original order and operation references.
In a custom API integration, preserve the same idempotency key for an unchanged retry and use the supported operation-retry route when applicable.
04 Plan for renewals
Keep enough available funds for expected renewals, including currency and price changes. Review upcoming expiries and alerts rather than waiting for a customer to report that a domain stopped working.
If automatic top-up is available to your account, review its threshold, payment method and spending caps. A saved top-up policy does not guarantee a card payment will succeed.
Why does my usable reseller balance differ from the displayed total?
Compare the statement, invoice payment and operation settlement. Send billing support the invoice, transaction and order references if they disagree. Never include card credentials or API secrets in that request.
Pending reservations can reduce spendable funds, while an invoice payment may still await posting or reconciliation. Check the balance field that represents available purchasing capacity and avoid subtracting the same hold twice. A master-funded account may follow a different settlement arrangement.
