Unsuspending a cPanel account in WHM

Unsuspend an account after the reason for its suspension has been resolved. This restores access to the hosting service but does not automatically repair an application, renew an expired domain or resolve every independent restriction.

Prepare for the change

Check the suspension reason and confirm that you have authority to reinstate the account. For a security incident, establish that the affected files and credentials have been reviewed. For a billing issue, verify the account status through the normal billing workflow.

01 Unsuspend a cPanel account in WHM

  1. Open Account Functions > Manage Account Suspension.
  2. Select the correct suspended domain or username. Suspended accounts are highlighted in the interface; do not rely on colour alone without checking the account details.
  3. Choose Unsuspend. If the server administrator locked the suspension against reseller changes, ask the administrator to review it.
  4. Wait for the completion message and record the reason for reinstatement.
  5. Check whether any other restrictions remain, including a bandwidth-exceeded condition, full disk allocation or application-level maintenance mode.

How do I confirm the unsuspended account works?

Test the website through the correct domain, sign in to cPanel and verify an appropriate email send-and-receive test. Review errors and important scheduled tasks before telling the customer that all service functions are working.

If the change does not work

If WHM reports success but a suspended page persists, check the account state first, then browser or proxy caches and the domain destination. Do not delete the website or restore a backup merely to clear a cached suspension page. Escalate a permission-locked suspension with the username and the recorded reason, without sharing credentials.
