A Plesk mailbox stores email for an address on a domain using the server mail service. Creating the address does not automatically move mail from another provider or change public MX records. Confirm where the domain should receive mail before provisioning a local mailbox.

Check access and requirements
Check that local mail service is available and enabled for the domain and that the subscription permits another mailbox. Decide the address, quota and owner. If the domain uses an external platform, create its mailbox there unless a planned migration requires a local copy.
01 Create an email mailbox in Plesk
- Open Mail in the correct subscription and select Create Email Address.
- Enter the address label and choose the correct domain. Check for an existing mailbox or alias with the same address.
- Set a strong unique password and enable the mailbox option when you need stored incoming mail. Set an appropriate quota within the subscription allocation.
- Review optional panel-user access carefully. A mailbox owner does not automatically need additional hosting-administration permissions.
- Save the mailbox and provide its owner with the verified mail-server settings through a secure channel. Configure DNS only as part of the intended mail-routing plan.
How do I test the new Plesk mailbox?
Sign in through the supported webmail or mail client, send a message to an independent external address and receive a reply. Check mailbox quota and the actual MX destination if incoming mail does not arrive.
Resolve setup problems
If the create control is unavailable, investigate mail-service availability, plan limits or role permissions. If delivery reaches another provider, review authoritative MX records rather than creating repeated local copies. Never send the mailbox password in a public support message or reuse the Plesk owner password for routine email access.
