Finding and reviewing your PayPal automatic payments

Review PayPal automatic payments when a renewal is approaching, a service has changed or an unexpected recurring charge appears. The agreement can have its own funding method and status, separate from the general preferred card in your PayPal wallet.

01 Find the merchant agreement

  1. Sign in directly to your PayPal account using the official website or app.
  2. On the website, open Settings, then Payments, and choose Subscriptions and saved businesses or Automatic Payments.
  3. Select the relevant merchant and review the agreement's status and available details.
  4. Compare the merchant, agreement reference and payment history with your Nabtech invoice and service records.
  5. Review any scheduled or recent payment before making another manual payment for the same service.

02 Check the right PayPal account

If an expected agreement is missing, consider whether it was created through another authorised business or personal PayPal account. A guest card transaction does not necessarily create an agreement in the account you are currently viewing.

03 Example: identify which automatic payment funds a renewal

Your finance colleague sees two saved merchant agreements in PayPal. You want to find the agreement attached to the hosting service before its next renewal.

  1. In PayPal, open Settings > Payments > Subscriptions and saved businesses, or the Automatic Payments view shown in your account.
  2. Open each relevant agreement and compare its reference, currency and recent payments with the Nabtech invoices.
  3. Record the matching service name and agreement reference in your business renewal register.
  4. Check whether a payment is already scheduled before making a manual invoice payment.

Expected result: the finance team can identify the agreement that belongs to the current service. If both appear to fund the same renewal, send both references to billing support for reconciliation.

What should I compare?

Check the amount and currency, service billing cycle, date and agreement status. Historical payments can remain visible after an agreement has been cancelled. A merchant name may differ from the website brand, so use the invoice and transaction references before deciding that a record is unrelated.

04 If you find two agreements

Ask billing support to help identify which agreement belongs to the current service before cancelling the wrong one. Provide the non-secret agreement references and relevant invoice numbers. Do not send your PayPal password or a one-time login code.

Keep a short internal billing record for business services. It should identify the service owner, renewal method and agreement reference so a staff change does not leave renewals attached to an inaccessible personal account.
