Managing Cloudflare from its current dashboard

Cloudflare is managed through the Cloudflare account that owns the domain’s zone. Older guides showing a cPanel Cloudflare plugin do not establish that the plugin is available on your current hosting service.

01 What you need before you begin

Confirm who owns the Cloudflare account and whether you have an authorised role for the domain. Keep control of the registrar account separately because registration and DNS management may be held by different providers.

02 Manage Cloudflare from its current dashboard

  1. Open the official Cloudflare dashboard and sign in with your authorised account. Use two-factor authentication for the account.
  2. Select the correct account and domain from the domain list. If the domain is missing, check account membership before adding a duplicate zone.
  3. Review the domain’s activation status and assigned nameservers. A pending zone may not yet serve authoritative DNS.
  4. Use the domain’s DNS, SSL/TLS, Security and caching areas for the relevant task. Available controls depend on the Cloudflare plan and your role.
  5. When delegating work, invite a named member with suitable permissions rather than sharing the account’s password or global API key.

03 Confirm the expected result

The selected zone should match the exact domain and owner account. Confirm whether its DNS records are proxied or DNS-only before expecting CDN or security features to act on traffic.

04 Example: find the right Cloudflare zone before changing a record

Sign in to the Cloudflare account that owns or has been granted access to the intended website. A similar domain name in another account is not evidence that you have found the active zone.

Compare the domain's delegated nameservers with the zone's assigned nameservers and review the record you intend to change. Hosting account access and Cloudflare account access are separate. We cannot assume authority over a Cloudflare account simply because the website is hosted with us.

What should I do when an old control-panel shortcut is missing?

Use Cloudflare's current dashboard for the zone rather than trying to recreate an obsolete integration. Do not change nameservers merely to bypass a missing login. Plan and verify any DNS-provider migration so that website, email and validation records are preserved.

When you need our help with an origin change, provide the domain and intended service. We can help identify the hosting destination and records to review. Keep API tokens and login passwords private, and grant access through the product's supported roles only when it is necessary and authorised.

What if my hosting-panel Cloudflare shortcut or account access is missing?

If a hosting-panel shortcut is absent, use the official dashboard directly. Hosting access does not automatically grant Cloudflare ownership. Recover access through Cloudflare’s documented account process, and do not change nameservers merely to bypass an account-permission issue without a planned DNS migration.
