Changing APIC, ACPI and VNC options in Virtualizor

Virtual machine options affect how the guest interacts with virtual hardware. ACPI supports functions such as orderly shutdown, APIC relates to interrupt handling, and VNC supplies console access. They are not general speed-boost switches.

Prepare for the change

Confirm the virtualization type and the operating system requirements. Record every current setting and make sure a backup or recovery route exists. Some options are unavailable for containers or restricted by the provider.

01 Change APIC, ACPI and VNC options in Virtualizor

  1. Open the selected VPS management view and choose Settings > VPS Configuration.
  2. Identify the specific compatibility problem you are addressing. Avoid changing APIC, ACPI and VNC together because that makes a failure harder to diagnose.
  3. Change the required checkbox and save. Retain working console access while adjusting boot-sensitive options.
  4. Follow the panel instruction for applying the change. A full stop and start may be required for virtual hardware changes; use a graceful guest shutdown before starting again.
  5. Observe the next boot through the console and test the behavior the change was intended to correct.

How do I validate the changed VPS hardware options?

After an ACPI change, verify a normal shutdown request works. After a VNC change, verify the console path is available or disabled as intended. Check guest logs and normal application behavior after any interrupt-controller change.

If the change does not work

If the guest no longer boots, restore the recorded setting from the panel before trying further changes. Contact support when a required option is hidden or the task fails. Do not turn off your only recovery console while investigating an inaccessible guest, and do not assume host options can replace missing guest drivers.
