Downloading a JetBackup recovery point creates an independent copy you can retain outside the hosting account. Select the components intentionally and record the package’s scope because a download is only as complete as the available backup items.

What you need before you begin
Choose the required date and plan sufficient local storage. Protect the downloaded package because it may contain customer records, passwords and private email. Keep any required encryption key separately and securely.
01 Download a JetBackup recovery point for independent storage
- Open JetBackup and select the full account or individual backup items you need.
- Check the timestamp for each selected item and include related database users where they are required for the recovery plan.
- Choose Download, review the summary and queue Download Selected Items. This prepares a downloadable package; it does not restore the live account.
- Monitor the queue, then open Downloads and save the completed package to your trusted computer or storage system.
- Check that the download is complete and document its date, components and intended restore method. Remove temporary prepared downloads according to the service’s controls when no longer needed.
Check the backup or recovered data
Inspect the package and confirm expected files or components are represented. Test recovery in an isolated environment before relying on it for a major migration.
Troubleshoot unexpected results
If the package cannot be prepared, review quota, queue errors, encryption requirements and permission limits. A Full Account selection may still omit components you are not permitted to manage.
Can I import this into any control panel?
Backup formats differ. Confirm the destination supports that JetBackup package or plan a component-level migration. Do not assume a JetBackup download is interchangeable with every native cPanel full-account archive.
