JetBackup can recover an email-account backup when that component and date are available. Review the restore behaviour before proceeding so historical recovery does not unexpectedly replace newer messages or mailbox settings.

What you need before you begin
Identify the complete address, missing folders and last known-good date. Export or otherwise preserve current mail first where possible. Pause unnecessary client changes during recovery so synchronisation does not complicate the result.
01 Recover a mailbox snapshot with JetBackup
- Open JetBackup and select the Email Accounts backup area.
- Choose the exact mailbox and recovery point. Check that the timestamp is appropriate for the missing messages.
- Select Restore and inspect the summary, including any mailbox configuration or associated items that may be restored.
- Read the provider’s restore conditions and merge or replacement options. Ask support if their effect on current messages is unclear before confirming.
- Wait for completion, then inspect webmail first. Verify folders and messages before allowing every desktop and mobile client to resynchronise.
Test sending and receiving
Check representative recovered messages, attachments and dates, along with messages received after the backup. Confirm the mailbox still authenticates and can send and receive.
Troubleshoot unexpected results
If a mail client appears empty after recovery, compare webmail and folder subscriptions before deleting or recreating the mailbox. A client cache is not necessarily a complete backup, and a restored historical password may require a coordinated reset.
Can I restore only one message?
The available selection granularity depends on the backup format and tools. A mailbox-level restore may be broader than one message. A downloaded recovery package or support-assisted extraction can be preferable when current mail must remain untouched.
