Transfer an existing domain to Nabtech without overlooking DNS or eligibility

A domain transfer moves registrar management to us. It is separate from moving a website, mailboxes or DNS records. Prepare those services and confirm the domain's transfer eligibility before placing the order.

01 Check eligibility with the current registrar

For many generic TLDs, transfers can be restricted during the first 60 days after registration or a recent transfer, and a change of registrant can trigger a separate lock. Country-code extensions can have different rules. Check the actual domain status and current policy instead of assuming one waiting period applies to every extension.

An expired domain is not automatically ineligible under ICANN policy. Redemption, deletion, unpaid prior registration fees and other specific conditions can affect the available process. If expiry is close or has passed, ask for the correct renewal, transfer or restoration path before relying on a transfer to keep the domain active.

02 Prepare the transfer

  1. Confirm you control the registrant account and can receive required notices.
  2. Obtain the current EPP or transfer code where the TLD uses one.
  3. Remove a normal transfer lock through the current registrar when allowed. Do not attempt to bypass a dispute or registry restriction.
  4. Record the existing nameservers and DNSSEC state. Confirm whether the old provider will continue DNS and email service after transfer.
  5. Keep backups and arrange any website or mailbox migration separately.

03 Place your order with us

Sign in to our client area and choose the domain-transfer ordering option. Enter the exact domain and required authorisation code. Review the current price, applicable term, contact data and registry-specific questions, then complete checkout.

Do not disable privacy merely because an old tutorial says it always blocks transfers. Follow the current registrar's actual verification requirements and keep contact data accurate.

04 Follow the transfer

Monitor the order and domain status and respond to legitimate verification requests through the official account channels. Completion depends on the registry, registrar and any pending checks. A paid invoice or pending order is not confirmation that transfer finished.

If the transfer fails, use the stated reason to correct the code, lock or eligibility issue. Do not place duplicate orders while the first is uncertain.

What should I check after a domain transfer completes?

Check the final registrar status, expiry, renewal settings, nameservers and DNSSEC chain. Test website and mail. Keep the old services until you have confirmed that the intended replacements are working and no cached DNS depends on them.

Compare the confirmed expiry with the actual TLD transfer rules rather than assuming every extension adds a year. Confirm that future reminders and billing reach the intended account, and keep the completed transfer reference for later support.
