Check a HostBill domain order from payment through registrar completion. The billing record, queued request and registrar result are separate pieces of evidence, particularly for transfers that can remain in progress after a request is accepted.

01 Review and submit the order
- Open the customer's domain under Orders & Accounts > Domains. Confirm the exact domain spelling, order type, period, customer, registrar module and connection.
- Review payment and the TLD's automation rule. Check any client override that permits submission on order placement or changes the normal payment requirement.
- Validate the required registrant and contact information. For a transfer, follow the registrar's current eligibility and authorisation-code requirements. Keep the code private.
- Confirm nameservers and any required extension-specific fields. Establish whether the customer expects to keep existing DNS during a transfer.
- Allow the configured automation to submit the action, or use the authorised Register or Transfer command when manual processing is required.
- Review the Domain Log, queue result and registrar account. If a request times out, check the provider before submitting it again.
02 Verify completion
For registration, confirm that the registrar holds the domain for the correct customer and period. For transfer, follow the provider's pending state until completion or a specific failure is established. Reconcile the final expiry date and next billing date through the supported synchronization workflow.
Explain the result to the customer using the actual provider status. Domain registration or transfer does not itself prove that a website, mailbox or DNS zone has been migrated.
03 Example: reconcile a timed-out domain registration
A customer's invoice is Paid and HostBill submitted a registration, but the queue reports a timeout. Before pressing Register again, open the domain log and identify the original request time and registrar connection.
Check the same domain in the registrar account. If it is already registered to the correct customer for the intended period, reconcile that successful provider result with the HostBill service record using the supported workflow. If the provider has no completed registration, investigate the original error before deciding whether a retry is appropriate.
Expected result: one registration is associated with one intended order. A lost response does not automatically mean the registrar failed to complete the action.
Common questions
Why is a paid transfer still pending?
Payment can authorise submission without completing the registrar transfer process. Check provider status, outstanding approvals and any reported lock or code error.
Should I register the domain manually after an automated timeout?
First confirm that the original request did not succeed. A duplicate attempt can cause an unnecessary charge or leave HostBill disconnected from the actual registration record.
