Export HostBill records for a controlled migration or review

hostbill, resellers

Choose the HostBill export that matches your goal. A report provides selected business records, a configuration export preserves settings, and a full backup supports disaster recovery. These files contain different data and are not interchangeable.

01 Export a business report

  1. Open Extras > Statistics & Reports > Reports and select a suitable report for the question you need to answer.
  2. Set the date range and relevant filters. Confirm whether the report is based on invoice issue dates, payment dates or another event before comparing it with external accounts.
  3. Review the available columns and include the identifiers, currency, status and amounts needed for reconciliation. Exclude personal data that the recipient does not need.
  4. Select an appropriate output such as CSV, JSON or PDF and generate the report. Check the first and last records, row count and totals before sharing it.
  5. Record the report name, parameters and generation time so another administrator can reproduce the result.

02 Export configuration or product settings

Open Settings > General Settings > Other > Import/Export configuration to save the supported general configuration as JSON. Product and domain configuration also have their own export options.

Store the files securely and preserve an unmodified original. Test any import against a compatible nonproduction installation first. An imported setting may refer to a module, template, tax rule or provider connection that must also exist in the destination.

Common questions

Can I move HostBill to another server using only configuration JSON?

No. A server migration also needs the database, application files, private customer files and original encryption configuration. Follow the full migration and backup procedure.

Why does an invoice report differ from gateway income?

Invoices describe charges, while transactions describe money movement. Compare date basis, currency, unpaid documents, refunds, credits and provider fees before treating the difference as missing revenue.

Should I edit an exported JSON file before importing it?

Use the supported interface for configuration changes and retain the original export. Hand editing can break references or introduce settings that were never validated by the application.
