Translate Hosting Suite customer labels and maintain language files

Translations replaces exact customer-facing strings in the module. Use it for translated labels or clearer English wording, then test complete customer workflows to find dynamic or theme-owned text that needs another method.

01 Translate a displayed string

  1. Open Workspace > Translations and select the language installed in your WHMCS system.
  2. Open Still in English and use the search field to find the required text.
  3. Select Translate, enter the replacement and choose Save translation.
  4. If the text is not suggested, choose Add translation and copy the exact source into English text the suite shows.
  5. Reload the customer page in that language and verify the result, including punctuation and button fit.

To rewrite an English label, choose English and add the replacement in the same way. The source must match the whole displayed string, including capitalization and punctuation. A partial sentence does not replace the same words inside a longer sentence.

02 Understand language selection

The customer-selected client-area language is used first, then the client's profile language and the WHMCS default as applicable. If no translation entry matches, the original English remains. An administrator opening a customer workspace may see the default-language behaviour, so use a normal customer session when validating a translation.

03 Export, import and review

Use the language's export action before a bulk edit. Import JSON merges the supplied entries into the selected language; an empty translation removes that entry. Confirm the destination language and inspect representative entries afterward.

Copy to another language provides a starting set. Existing destination entries are preserved unless you explicitly choose to overwrite them. Copying English text into another language does not itself produce a translation, so arrange a proper language review.

What limits apply to the translation tools?

Each language supports up to 2,000 entries, with source and replacement length limits and an overall size limit. A rejected oversized import should be reduced or divided according to the actual supported limits, not forced through a direct database edit.

The tool does not translate emails, the administrator workspace, every theme-owned sidebar label or sentences containing changing values that cannot exactly match. Translate emails in WHMCS email templates and handle theme strings through the theme's supported language mechanism.

04 Maintain translations after updates

Review newly introduced strings and changed wording after a module upgrade. If another administrator edits the same language while you work, reload before saving to avoid overwriting their changes. Keep an exported approved version and test both routine pages and confirmation dialogs.
