Improving a long WordPress page with AI without losing text

nabwp, wordpress

Use Improve a page for a controlled editorial change, then compare the result with the complete original. Long pages need particular care because the AI receives a limited extraction of their text rather than an unlimited copy of every word.

01 Preserve the original

Back up the page's content and confirm WordPress revisions are available. For an important live page, test on staging first. Record essential facts, links, calls to action and sections that must remain unchanged, especially prices, product limits and policy wording.

02 Understand the current extraction limit

The current Improve workflow collects up to 80 text items and truncates each extracted item to 400 characters. A long paragraph can therefore be shortened before the AI sees it, even when the page has relatively few blocks. The tool aims to retain layout, photos and buttons, but that does not guarantee complete preservation of all long-form text.

03 Run and review a focused improvement

  1. Open AI website for the correct site and choose Improve a page.
  2. Select the intended page and a specific goal, such as grammar correction or clearer wording.
  3. Run the task on the chosen review copy.
  4. Compare each affected passage with the original, not just the first screen.
  5. Restore omitted facts or links manually and reject wording that changes the meaning.
  6. Preview the complete page and verify the public result only after approval.

Is a shorter result proof that the AI improved it?

No. The output may be concise, but missing qualifications or truncated sections can change the meaning. Compare headings, lists, tables, long paragraphs and embedded content explicitly. Word count is a useful clue, not a complete accuracy check.

What should I do with very long material?

Use a more controlled editorial workflow: work from a preserved copy, revise manageable sections through the normal editor, and compare the complete document before replacing the live version. Do not repeatedly run the whole-page tool in the hope that it will eventually process text beyond its extraction limits.

04 Recover if the result is unsuitable

Use the relevant WordPress revision or your preserved copy to recover the previous content, then verify plugin-specific fields and layout separately. This writing workflow is not the same as the Engineer's file Undo. Keep the accepted revision and a record of the editorial goal for later updates.
