Correct and resubmit a returned .edu.ng or .gov.ng application

A request for clarification is a prompt to correct the identified issue, not a reason to submit several different applications. We will help you understand what is missing and prepare a consistent replacement through the existing case.

01 Read the exact reason before editing

Identify whether the question concerns eligibility, institutional identity, domain structure, signing authority, contact details or nameservers. Preserve the original message and any application reference. Do not assume that a new letter date alone resolves an accreditation or authority issue.

Issue raised Useful response
Name differs across documents Correct the error or provide relevant official evidence explaining the difference
Unclear or incomplete scan Rescan all required pages so letterhead, text and signature are legible
Inappropriate contact or signatory Provide correctly authorised institutional details and a newly signed letter
Missing approval evidence Provide the relevant approval/accreditation document, not an unrelated certificate
Incorrect proposed domain structure Confirm the permitted name with the handling team before reissuing the letter

02 Prepare a clear replacement

Use our .edu.ng template or .gov.ng template as preparation guidance. Amend the editable original, review the complete document and obtain a genuine new signature where the signed content changes. Do not digitally paste a signature onto altered text without the signatory's proper authorisation.

Name replacement files clearly and keep prior copies in your own records. In the support case, identify which attachment replaces which version.

03 Explain the change in your reply

Regarding application [reference] for [domain], we have corrected [specific issue]. The new attachment [filename] replaces [previous filename]. The requested domain remains [domain], and our authorised contact is [name and role]. Please review the corrected pack.

This example gives the reviewer a useful change summary. Do not include passwords or unrelated institutional records. If the domain or applicant itself is changing, say so explicitly rather than describing it as a minor spelling correction.

04 Keep the application active without duplicating it

Respond through the same case and keep the named officers reachable. Ask us whether further action is needed when the response is unclear. A support acknowledgement, payment receipt or successful file upload does not mean the registry has approved the application.

05 Questions we receive

Should we pay again to speed up verification?

Do not make an additional payment unless we identify a valid charge and explain it through the normal billing process. Payment does not replace eligibility or document review.

Can we launch using the requested name while review continues?

Plan a temporary review environment separately. Do not publish the unapproved name as an active official address or assume mail to it will arrive.
