An upgrade to reseller hosting changes the resources or account allowance available to your reseller service. It does not automatically redesign the packages you sell to your customers. Review the current workload and the proposed limits before requesting the change.
01 Prepare a capacity review
Record the number of active cPanel accounts, assigned package limits and actual storage usage. Check bandwidth, mail usage and any account-level resource restrictions that affect customers. Allocated storage and used storage can be different, so use the figures relevant to your reseller agreement.
- Open the reseller service in the client area and review the available upgrade options, or request a quotation if the needed option is not displayed.
- Compare account allowance, disk space, bandwidth and any included licence entitlement. Do not assume a higher plan removes every individual account limit.
- Ask whether the change can be applied on the current server or requires migration. Confirm expected steps, any maintenance and whether nameservers or connection settings will change.
- Review the invoice, recurring amount and effective date. Complete the approved upgrade process only once.
- After completion, check the service and reseller control panel for the new allowance.
- Review your own hosting packages and amend them where appropriate. Existing customer packages may need a separate change to receive additional resources.
02 Verify representative customers
Check at least one website, mailbox and customer login, especially after a server move. Confirm automated provisioning still selects the correct server and package if you use a billing platform. Keep the pre-change account inventory until the upgrade is confirmed.
What about a downgrade?
Reduce usage and account count to fit the proposed plan before requesting it. Deleting a customer account is destructive and is not a routine capacity adjustment. Agree an authorised migration, closure or package change with the affected customer first.
Reseller web hosting is distinct from domain reselling. Our current domain-reseller workflow uses Domain Nexus, and changing a cPanel reseller package does not itself change domain pricing or API permissions.
