Signing in to your WordPress administration dashboard

Your WordPress administration dashboard is where you edit content and manage the website. Sign in to the correct installation with a WordPress user account, or use the available WordPress admin sign-in action in NabWP WordPress Manager.

01 Identify the correct website and account

WordPress credentials are separate from your client area account and your WordPress.org account. If you manage several installations, check both the domain and installation folder. A website installed at https://example.com/blog/ normally has its administration area at https://example.com/blog/wp-admin/.

02 Open WordPress admin

  1. Open the website's HTTPS address and append /wp-admin/. WordPress normally redirects a signed-out visitor to its login screen.
  2. Enter your WordPress username or email address and password. Complete any two-factor authentication required by your security plugin.
  3. Confirm that the site name and dashboard belong to the expected website before making changes.

For NabWP, sign in to the client area, open the relevant service and WordPress Manager, select the website, and use its WordPress admin access action where available. Account permissions and service status can affect access. A site security plugin may use a custom login address instead of the standard URL.

What should I check when WordPress sign-in fails?

Use the password reset link for the WordPress account and check the mailbox associated with that user. Avoid repeated guesses, which may trigger a lockout. A redirect loop can be caused by an incorrect site URL, cookies, HTTPS settings or a plugin; record the exact destination rather than repeatedly changing the password.

If the login page itself fails, tell us the affected domain, error text and when it last worked. Do not include your password or recovery codes in a support message. After signing in, check that the expected menus are present; a missing Plugins menu may reflect your user role or a Multisite restriction rather than a failed login.
