Removing a domain from Plesk deletes the hosting objects and related site data included in that removal. It does not cancel domain registration or automatically change external DNS. Use this action for an intentional retirement or completed migration, not as a routine fix for a broken website.

Prepare for the change
Back up the website, databases, mail and settings that must be retained. Identify subdomains, aliases, users and applications associated with the domain. Confirm that customers and integrations have moved before deleting their former endpoint.
01 Remove a website domain from Plesk
- Open Websites & Domains in the correct subscription and locate the exact domain.
- Review the removal scope and dependencies. If this is the primary domain of a subscription, its available removal path can differ; ask support before changing the subscription itself.
- Download and verify the recovery data, then arrange any required DNS, mail or redirect transition. Keep an agreed recovery window.
- Use the domain removal action and carefully read the confirmation. Confirm only the intended website after checking its full name.
- Review remaining subscription items and external DNS. Remove stale records only when they no longer serve a deliberate purpose.
How do I confirm the intended domain was removed?
Confirm that the intended domain is absent and other sites remain available. Check that visitors and mail now use the planned replacement service, rather than an unintended default page or abandoned address.
If the change does not work
If deletion is blocked by a primary-domain relationship or permission, investigate the supported retirement workflow instead of manually deleting its directories. If you removed the wrong site, stop further changes and restore from the verified backup with support as needed. Re-adding the domain name creates configuration; it does not magically recover deleted files or new business data.
