SSH is a way to run authorized commands on a hosting account. When account-level terminal access is available for your service, our AI Engineer can use it to inspect the environment, read relevant information, run supported diagnostics, and assist with scripts or application code. This lets an investigation reach the files and runtime conditions behind a website issue.

01 Understand account-level access and available tools
Access remains tied to the selected customer's hosting account and its permissions. The Engineer does not receive unrestricted root access, permission to control other customers' accounts, or authority to change the hosting server's operating system. Some tasks need tools or privileges that a shared hosting account does not provide. In those cases, our support team must assess the request or help you choose an appropriate service.
The Engineer also uses supported management tools provided by the hosting platform. A task does not necessarily require SSH if a suitable account operation or WordPress management tool is available. For NabWP, WordPress commands and website tools can support work such as inspecting plugins, checking configuration, or reviewing the installation, subject to the service's capabilities.
02 Request command-line help through the supported access
You can request technical help without knowing terminal commands yourself. Explain the outcome you need and ask the Engineer to show the reason for any proposed change. Keep approval controls enabled for unfamiliar work, and confirm that a recovery method exists before a significant change.
Do not paste SSH private keys, account passwords, or access tokens into a normal support conversation to make a task proceed. If an integration needs additional authorized access, use the appropriate secure setup process with our guidance. Unavailable access should be resolved through the service's supported permissions, not by trying to bypass account restrictions.
Does AI Engineer access include unrestricted server commands?
No. Its terminal access remains limited to the selected hosting account and the tools and permissions enabled for that service. A task requiring server-wide privileges must be assessed through the appropriate support or server-administration route.
- Check that SSH or terminal access is enabled for the selected hosting service and that the task fits its environment.
- Provide the intended result rather than supplying a private SSH key in the conversation.
- For a host-key warning or changed connection identity, ask us to verify the server before accepting a new key.
A command-line session can still change important account data. Use the same backup, permission and verification discipline as for a graphical control. Browser terminal availability, a command allowed through WP-CLI and a server-wide administrative shell are different capabilities.
