Renewal operations shows each renewal's invoice, period and processing state. Start with renewals marked Needs review and establish what happened in WHMCS before asking the module to repair an interrupted step.

01 Inspect the record
- Open Hosting Renewals and Renewal operations.
- Find the service and open its details using the eye control or Actions > Check and fix.
- Read the status reason, saved period, amount, tax, discounts, future cycle and history.
- Use View invoice to inspect the actual WHMCS invoice and its transactions.
- Compare the service's current owner, amount, cycle and due date with the saved renewal. Record any change that explains the stop.
02 Interpret the state
Published means the invoice was issued and awaits payment. Prepared means payment was confirmed and extension is in progress. Fulfilled means the paid renewal was applied. A draft awaiting confirmation is different from an issued invoice; the quoted price is held for a limited review period.
Reversal review means a fulfilled renewal's payment was reversed or is no longer fully covered. The module does not automatically take back the paid period. Staff must reconcile the payment and decide the appropriate service action.
How do I recover an interrupted renewal invoice step?
For supported cases such as invoice creation, issue or replacement not being confirmed, inspect the invoice first. Then select Check and fix this renewal, explain What you checked, and why, approve the specific repair and select Fix this renewal.
The repair uses the original saved pricing and looks for the existing invoice rather than intentionally creating another charge. It issues an invoice only when customer confirmation was already recorded. If the record changed while you reviewed it, reload and assess the current state.
03 Recognise cases needing a decision
A paid flag without sufficient matching transactions, a refunded invoice or a changed service snapshot requires investigation. Do not repeatedly run a repair to force a service date through a financial discrepancy. Resolve the underlying WHMCS record and customer agreement.
If paid renewals remain at Published, check cron health and processing errors. After recovery, verify the service date, billing cycle and each included domain or addon. A non-payment suspension may be eligible for unsuspension under automation settings; a separate manual or security suspension should not be assumed removable by payment.
Keep the audit reason and safe invoice references with the case. Export selected operations when a controlled reconciliation requires a report.
04 Separate financial correction from service recovery
When payment was applied to the wrong invoice, reconcile the transaction through the appropriate WHMCS procedure before trying to fulfil the renewal. When the invoice is correct but a provider operation failed, inspect that remote operation and avoid charging the customer again for the same period.
For a combined renewal, record which components completed and which remain unresolved. A registrar may already have extended a domain even if the overall operation needs review. Check the actual expiry at the registrar before repeating renewal. Close the case only when the invoice, service dates and included items agree, and explain any manual commercial decision in the audit reason so later staff can follow it.
