Create a Webuzo mailbox when this server is intended to receive mail for the domain. A mailbox is distinct from a forwarding address and needs storage, authentication and correct mail routing to work reliably.

Check access and requirements
Confirm the domain belongs to the account, local mail service is enabled and the plan permits another mailbox. Check where the domain MX records point. If mail is hosted externally, create the mailbox at that provider instead of creating an unused local copy.
01 Create and test a Webuzo mailbox
- Open Email > Email Account in the end-user panel and choose the intended domain. Enter the new local part and a unique strong password, then review any quota offered by the form.
- Create the account and confirm the complete address in the list. Use the full address as the login where the configuration specifies it.
- Inspect the account mail-client configuration and verify the hostname against the mail-server certificate. Use the supported encrypted IMAP and authenticated submission settings provided for this server.
- Test access through trusted webmail first, then configure one mail client. Avoid insecure legacy settings simply because an old example lists them.
- Send a small test message to an external mailbox and send a reply back. Inspect Email Deliverability for the appropriate SPF, DKIM and DMARC configuration.
- Review retention and backup coverage, and record how the mailbox owner can change its password without sharing the hosting administrator credential.
Does creating a mailbox update external DNS?
Not when another provider hosts the authoritative zone. Publish the required MX and authentication records there, and verify public answers before expecting internet mail to arrive.
Confirm the expected result
Confirm the reply arrives in the intended mailbox and that sent messages reach the external recipient. Check the message headers for expected authentication results. Verify that the client uses encryption and that the hostname certificate matches.
Resolve setup problems
If outbound mail works but inbound mail fails, check MX and local routing. If authentication fails, compare the full address, password and source-IP blocking before repeated retries. For a full mailbox, archive or remove mail according to the owner retention decision rather than deleting the account.
