Installing WordPress with Softaculous in cPanel or SiteWorx

Softaculous can create a WordPress installation on an eligible hosting account. The installer is reached differently in cPanel and SiteWorx, but the WordPress setup choices are broadly the same after it opens.

01 Choose an unused destination

Confirm the domain is attached to the correct hosting account, the intended PHP version is compatible and sufficient storage and database allowance remain. Use HTTPS once the domain has a working certificate. Check the destination directory before installing: do not overwrite a live site or an existing application.

For NabWP's native service setup, use the WordPress Manager installation workflow instead. Installing another copy through a separate tool without a plan can leave you managing the wrong site or exceeding your allowance.

Where do I open Softaculous in cPanel or SiteWorx?

  • cPanel: sign in through your service, search for Softaculous or find it in the Software area, and open Softaculous Apps Installer.
  • SiteWorx: open Hosting Features > Softaculous. An older layout may group the installer under Site Software. The provider must enable the integration and the relevant application availability.

If the installer or WordPress is unavailable, ask us to confirm your service's features. A panel's presence alone does not guarantee every Softaculous application is licensed or enabled.

02 Install the intended WordPress site

  1. Select WordPress and choose its installation action.
  2. Choose the correct protocol and domain. Leave In Directory empty for the domain root, or enter a new folder such as blog for https://example.com/blog/.
  3. Enter the site name and description. Create a unique administrator username and strong password, and use an email address you can access for recovery.
  4. Review the selected version, language and optional plugins or themes. Keep only additions you intend to maintain. Review update and backup settings instead of assuming every default matches your needs.
  5. Check the final destination again, then start installation and wait for the result.

03 Verify and recover from setup errors

Open both the public site and its WordPress administration URL. Confirm the HTTPS certificate, installation path, site title and administrator access. Save credentials securely and record which tool manages the installation.

If the installer says files already exist, inspect the destination rather than enabling overwrite blindly. If it fails partway through, check the installation list and directory before retrying. A second installation attempt can create another database or leave conflicting files. Send us the exact error and intended domain when the state is unclear.
