Moving an existing WordPress website to NabWP

nabwp, wordpress

An existing WordPress website can be assessed for a move from regular hosting to NabWP Managed WordPress Hosting. The aim is to bring your current site into the dedicated WordPress management experience while preserving its content and intended functionality. You do not need to rebuild the whole website with AI simply because you choose NabWP.

01 Assess the WordPress site and the other account services

Start by telling us the site's address, its current hosting service and the plugins or business functions that matter most. Mention a store, membership system, custom theme, unusual PHP dependency or large media collection. We can then help assess the destination plan and the migration work. Moving products is different from clicking an ordinary upgrade within the same package family, so it should be planned as a service transition.

Check the scope of the old hosting account before moving anything. It may also contain unrelated websites, email accounts, DNS records and scheduled tasks. Moving one WordPress installation does not automatically relocate all those services into NabWP. Decide what stays, what moves separately and which account must remain active.

02 Copy and test the installation

  1. Take suitable backups, copy the WordPress files and database and test the destination.
  2. Check the theme, plugins, login, forms, links and any payment or order workflows.

Once the site is recognized by the NabWP Manager, review the tools available to it.

Targeted AI content improvements and Engineer work can then be considered independently of the migration.

03 Complete the move and check remaining dependencies

If the site receives new data while being moved, arrange a final synchronization plan that protects those changes. Confirm domain routing, email and billing after the new site is working. Keep the old service until the remaining dependencies have been checked. This avoids cancelling an account that is still handling mail or another website you intended to retain.

How do I verify a WordPress migration to NabWP?

  1. Confirm the destination contains the correct uploads, database content, theme, plugins and application configuration.
  2. Open the final HTTPS address and test WordPress login, permalinks, forms, scheduled tasks and any order or membership workflow.
  3. Once the installation is recognised in NabWP, check its available backups, update preferences and security findings before making unrelated improvements.

Move the site first, verify it, and then consider a redesign. Running the full AI builder during a migration changes the active design and creates published pages, making it harder to distinguish a migration problem from a new design change.
