Prepare a hosting reseller launch checklist

web-hosting

Launch a hosting reseller offer only after one complete customer journey works: order, payment, provisioning, access, support and renewal. This checklist helps a hosting business turn a configured billing platform into a service it can operate consistently.

01 Prepare the launch record

  1. Define the offer. Record each plan's resources, control panel, management scope, billing cycle and optional charges. Match these with the capacity and permissions available from your upstream provider.
  2. Assign responsibilities. Name the people who own billing, technical support, security updates, backups and provider escalations. Document the support route customers should use.
  3. Configure fulfilment. Connect the provider module, map the correct packages and choose the creation trigger. Test with a disposable account before allowing public orders to create paid resources.
  4. Validate money movement. Check gateway credentials, callbacks, currency, approved taxes, discounts and invoice wording. Reconcile a test receipt with the resulting service.
  5. Prepare customer access. Verify HTTPS, client login, password recovery, delegated access and welcome instructions. Test the links from an ordinary customer account.
  6. Test the lifecycle. Confirm recurring invoice timing, reminders, cancellation handling and the agreed suspension policy. Check that only the intended scheduler owns each action.
  7. Prove recovery. Restore a representative backup in an isolated environment and record the result. Confirm you can access provider support and recovery credentials during an outage.

02 Decide whether to open orders

Keep a short acceptance record listing the tested product, provider account, payment result, support ticket and unresolved issues. Assign an owner and due date to each issue. If a required part of the journey fails, keep that product unavailable until the actual risk is resolved.

After launch, review the first orders individually and compare delivered resources with the advertised plan. Monitor provisioning failures, mailbox delivery, renewal queues and supplier balances.

Common questions

Is a successful module connection enough to launch?

No. It establishes connectivity, while a complete test order checks pricing, customer ownership, package mapping and the actual service customers receive.

Should every product be enabled on the first day?

Enable the offers you have validated and can support. A smaller tested catalogue is easier to maintain than several unverified combinations of packages and optional features.
