Gmail can hold a composed message and send it at a selected future time. Use scheduling when you want to prepare a message now but deliver it during the recipient's working day. It is different from recalling a message after the receiving system has accepted it.

01 Schedule the message
- Compose the message in Gmail and review recipients, attachments and the From address.
- Use the arrow or menu beside Send and choose Schedule send.
- Select a suggested time or choose the intended date and time. Confirm the timezone context.
- Complete scheduling and open the Scheduled folder to verify the message and planned delivery.
- If circumstances change, open the scheduled item and choose Cancel send before its send time.
- Edit the resulting draft, then schedule it again or send it normally.
02 Review time-sensitive content
Check that prices, meeting links and deadlines will still be correct when the message sends. A schedule does not keep an attachment or statement current automatically. For sensitive announcements, assign someone to review the queued message if the business situation changes.
Do I need to leave my computer on?
A successfully scheduled Gmail message is held by the service, rather than depending on an open browser tab. Confirm it is actually listed in Scheduled before closing the session. A draft that was never scheduled remains a draft.
Can I retrieve it after delivery?
Do not rely on scheduling or the brief Undo Send feature as a general recall mechanism. After the message has been sent, handle a mistake through your organisation's correction process and contact the recipient where appropriate.
For routine bulk campaigns, use a suitable mailing workflow and the relevant sending limits and consent rules. Scheduling many individual mailbox messages does not remove those responsibilities or turn a business mailbox into a bulk-email platform.
