Creating and organising pages in SitePad

development

Create pages around the information visitors need, then connect them through the site's navigation. In SitePad, a page's title, address, publication status and place in the menu are separate settings that should be checked together.

01 Create and organise a page

  1. Open SitePad from the hosting control panel and select the correct website. Record its public address so you can distinguish a live site from a test installation.
  2. Choose Pages > Add New Page. In the editor's settings, enter a meaningful page name and a short, stable page URL.
  3. Add the page content using rows, columns and appropriate widgets. Use headings to describe the sections and add useful links to the next customer task.
  4. Check the page settings, including its status and featured image where relevant. Save the work without publishing unfinished information.
  5. Review the page on desktop and mobile, then use Publish when it is ready. For an existing page, open Pages > All Pages, use its edit icon and save changes with Update.
  6. Add the published page to the relevant menu or link it from an existing page. Open the public address while signed out and test every new link.

Common questions

Why is a published page missing from the menu?

Publishing the page does not establish every navigation link. Review the selected menu and add the intended page, then verify the menu shown in the header.

Can I change a page URL later?

You can edit its address, but existing links and bookmarks will still use the old one. Plan an appropriate redirect and update internal links before changing an established URL.

Should every topic become a separate page?

Create a separate page when it supports a distinct visitor task. Keep closely related explanations together when splitting them would force readers to search across several short pages.
