Preserve both the website's visible content and its business data before an affected Weebly account loses access. A downloaded website archive is a useful reference, but it is not a complete, automatically restorable copy of every Weebly feature.
01 Collect and verify the exports
- Confirm the affected site and remaining access using the account-eligibility guide. Create a protected folder labelled with the site and export date.
- Use Account Settings > My Data > Download My Data where the regional notice's account export is available.
- For a site archive, open the website editor's Settings and find Archive. In the documented classic editor this appears under General and sends an archive link to the specified email address.
- Download the archive and confirm that it opens. Compare a sample of pages and images with the site while access remains available.
- Export store products, order history and other business records through their own available export tools. Record missing fields and data that needs a separate capture.
- Preserve blog text, media originals, forms, contact details and third-party configuration that are not represented completely in the archive.
- Keep a second protected copy and record which items were verified. Do not delete the source account as part of the export task.
Common questions
Can I import the archive back into Weebly?
Weebly's archive guidance says it is not an importable site backup. Treat it as material for preservation and rebuilding.
Does the archive include a working store or blog?
The documented archive excludes store and blog pages, and some interactive features do not work outside Weebly. Export or preserve those separately.
What if the download link does not arrive?
Confirm the destination address, check filtering and retry through the account's export option. Ask support while access remains rather than assuming the export completed.
