Use OX Tasks for work that has a due date and a completion state. Use a calendar appointment when the activity must occupy a specific time. Confirm the task feature is available in the account.

01 Create an actionable task
- Open Tasks and choose a writable task list.
- Select New task and enter an action-oriented subject.
- Add a description explaining the result required.
- Expand the form to set start date, due date and a useful reminder. Review privacy and any additional details.
- Create the task and verify that it appears in the intended list.
02 Work from the list
Review due and overdue items at a regular time. Update the progress or completion state after checking the actual result. A reminder is useful only if the account's notification route is working, so test it on a harmless task before relying on it for a critical deadline.
Common questions
Should every task become a meeting?
No. A task can be completed flexibly before its deadline, while an appointment reserves a particular period. Use both only when the work also needs a scheduled session.
Why can I see a task list but not add to it?
Your permission may allow viewing without creating items. Ask the list owner for the specific right needed.
Does marking a task complete notify every stakeholder?
Do not assume it replaces an agreed customer or manager update. Confirm completion in the business system that owns the work and communicate the result through its normal process.
For recurring operational checks, name the evidence required, such as a successful restore report. A task ticked as complete without that evidence does not prove the underlying service check succeeded.
