Changing or resetting an OX App Suite mailbox password

email, account-help

The OX mailbox password protects email access and is separate from the Nabtech client-area password. Reset the mailbox credential through the authorised service controls when its owner forgets it or when access may be compromised.

01 Set a replacement password

  1. Verify the request using the organisation's approved identity process.
  2. In our client area, open the OX service and its email-account management screen.
  3. Select the affected mailbox and choose Set Password.
  4. Enter and confirm a strong unique password, or use the supplied generator. Save it and deliver it to the mailbox owner securely.
  5. Test webmail access before updating credentials in other devices or applications.

02 Review the account

After suspected compromise, inspect automatic forwarding, rules and unfamiliar access or devices exposed by the account's security controls. Preserve relevant details before removing unauthorised settings. Update or revoke application-specific credentials separately where applicable.

Common questions

Will changing my client-area password reset email too?

Do not assume so. The client area manages the service, while the mailbox has its own credential. Confirm which sign-in is failing before performing a reset.

Why does my phone keep rejecting the new password?

First confirm webmail succeeds. Then check the full mailbox username, the service's supplied server settings and the authentication method supported by that application. A saved old password or separate app credential can cause repeated failures.

What if the account says it is deactivated?

A deactivated service or mailbox can require an account-status correction, not another password change. Give us the exact error and service reference.

Keep passwords out of ordinary tickets and screenshots. If several staff have used one password, use the incident as a prompt to establish individual accounts or a supported sharing arrangement rather than distributing another shared secret.
